Abstract
PURPOSE:To ensure the correct sorting work by resetting a sorter to its standard position in case the sorter is not used even in the lapse of a prescribed period of time after the use in the sorting mode and inhibiting the interruption mode if designated in the sorting mode. CONSTITUTION:A sorter 300 contains a non-sort bin 302 where the copy sheets are stored in block and a sort bin 303 comprising 10 sheets of movable bins. The sorter 300 is moved down or up, via a slider 317, a cam 312, etc. depending on the direction of the rotation of a motor 307. When the final sheet in the sorting mode is stored in the bin 302, a timer is set to deliver the time-out signal in the lapse of a prescribed time. Thus the initial resetting is given to the sorter 300. At the same time, the indication to the interruption mode if given in the sorting mode is inhibited. In such a way, the correct sorting work is made possible without disordering the storing sequence of the copies.
