Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent the backflash to scan tracks accurately, by arranging springs in front and rear ends in the advance direction of a head carriage in a floppy disc device. CONSTITUTION:A head carriage 4 is guided by a guide rod 8 to lead a head 3 toward the center of a floppy discket 2. A head driving pulley 5 is arraned in the side of the head carriage 4, and one end of a steel belt 6 wound around this pulley 5 is fixed to the head carriage 4 side, and the pulley 5 is rotated by a stepper motor 7 to wind up or rewind the steel belt 6 around or from the pulley 5, and thus, the head carriage 4 is reciprocated. The backflash of the head carriage 4 is reduced by expansion and contraction of springs 9 and 10 provided between frames 11 and 12 in front and rear parts in the advance direction of the head carriage 4, and the precision of the track position for reciprocating motion of the head 3 is improved considerably.
