Abstract

PURPOSE:To reduce variations in the running speed of a tape by providing an elastic body, which is displaced according to variations in tape tension, between a supply reel and a magnetic head. CONSTITUTION:Between a tape supply reel 10 and a magnetic head 14, an elastic body 15 displaced according to variations in the tension of a tape is provided. In this case, a resonance characteristic curve determined by the equivalent mass of the supply reel 10, and tape compliance, and that of the said elastic body 15 overlap each other. For example, a pin 15 fixed at one end and bent in an L shape at the other is provided, and a tape 1 is passed through the end of the L-shaped part, so that the pin 15 is displaced as shown by arrows (b) and (c) according to variations in the back tension of the tape 1.
