Abstract
PURPOSE:To manufacture magnetic heads with excellent recording and reproducing characteristics, by using ferromagnetic metallic thin belts with high magnetic permeability and oxide magnetic materials in combination. CONSTITUTION:As high-magnetic-permeability ferrite, Mn-Zn ferrite is used, and grooves 31 where thin belts 33 of sendust are to be inserted as metallic thin belts are formed at equal intervals. The grooves 31 are formed in a surface 32 facing to a recording medium. Thin belts 33 are stuck with glass in the grooves 31 and unnecessary metallic magnetic thin belts 33 are removed to form a block 35. The block 35 is cut at right angles to the metallic magnetic thin belts 33 to obtain small blocks 36. In each small block 36, a groove 42 as a coil winding window and rear reinforcing-material packed grooves 43 and 43' are formed and in both flanks of metallic thin blets 41 and 41', notched grooves 44 and 44' for regulating the track width are formed. Two blocks are butted and joined with glass, and the united body is cut as shown broken lines 57 to obtain magnetic head cores.
