Abstract

PURPOSE:To separate serum and others efficiently by preparing a composition comprising a liquid modified polybutadien preventing the gelation of a compound separating serum or blood plasma for the main ingredients and a proper amount of ingredient added to adjust the specific weight and the viscosity and to impart the thixotropic properties and by putting said composition in a bottomed tube. CONSTITUTION:A separation composition 2 is prepared comprising 100pts.wt. of a liquid modified polybutadiene preventing the gelation of a composition separating serum and blood plasma during centrifuge, 5-10pts.wt. of a silica fine powder, etc., adjusting a specific weight and a viscosity and 0.1-2pts.wt. of trimethylene glycol, etc., as a structure forming agent imparting thixotropic properties and to have a specific weight in 1.035-1.065 range. To prepare a bloo collecting tube, about 2cc said composition in a 10cc internal volume of the blood collecting tube 1 is put in a bottomed tube 1, stopped with a plug 3 thereon. The sampled blood is put in the prepared tube, and is subjected to centrifuge. The composition 2 is then forming layers without breaking the blood cell, etc., among layers of the serum, the blood plasma and the blood cells, etc., to hold the blood cells layer without mingling with the layers of the serum and the blood plasma due to the thixotropic properties after centrifuge.
