Abstract

PURPOSE:To suppress the vibration of a backmetal and prevent the generation of noise based on the vibration of the pad by a structure wherein a part or the whole of the backmetal is made of vibration damping steel plate in the disc brake pad comprising the backmetal, on the surface of which a lining is pasted. CONSTITUTION:A part or the whole of the backmetal 1 is made of vibration damping steel plate in the disc brake pad comprising the backmetal 1, on the surface of which the lining 2 is pasted. In this case, the vibration damping steel plate is the steel plate having a remarkably large vibration damping factor as compared with the vibration damping factor of steel plate in general and any steel product of reasonable make is used as long as the steel plate has suitably large vibration damping factor. Owing to the structure as described above, even when minute vibration occurs due to the friction between the lining and the side surface of a rotor and transmits to the backmetal 1, the vibration is damped by the vibration damping steel plate, resulting in generating no noise by aggravating vibration of the backmetal 1 and consequently effectively preventing the noise of the disc brake.
