Abstract

PURPOSE:To provide a sensor of high reliability by using a pressure sensitive element consisting of fibers having conductivity such as carbon fibers of which the resistance value changes on account of a change in the contact state between the fibers when exterted with pressure between two sheets of electrode plates. CONSTITUTION:A pressure sensitive element 1 consists of carbon fibers having high elasticity which are oriented and formed to a flat plate shape and in which the individual fibers are entangled intricately. Electrode plates 2a, 2b are adhered to both surfaces of the element 1. The resistance value of the element 1 changes according to applied voltage, and the change in this resistance value is detected from two sheets of the electrode plates 2a, 2b.
