Abstract
PURPOSE:To prevent large variations in tension by a method wherein a field current standard for a motor is changed as a change rate suitable for the degree of acceleration or deceleration at the time of accelerating or decelerating a material to be treated, in a process of unwinding or winding a coil-formed material such as sheet steel or the like at a constant tension. CONSTITUTION:The content counted by a counter 18 for the field current standard for the motor is read at a predetermined period with a pulse output from a pulse oscillator 14 as a clock pulse. The counted contents sequentially read are compared with each other to calculate the change rate of the field current standard, and the change rate thus calculated is fed out to a frequency converting circuit 25 as a control signal. The output from the frequency converting circuit 25 is passed through a gate 28 (which receives a detection output of an acceleration/deceleration detecting circuit 11 as a gate signal through an inverter 27) and then it is fed as a down count into a counter 18 through an OR gate 29 provided at an output terminal of a gate 17 for the down count.
