Abstract

PURPOSE:To simplify the timing control of sheets of paper to be fed by such a construction that inverse one-way clutches are interposed between the sheet feeding means, resist means and their respective drive means and that drive of the feeding and resist means is changed over by direction switching of the drive motor. CONSTITUTION:Regular rotation of a sheet feeding motor M will turn the driving gear 33 in the direction for feed of sheets and put a one-way clutch 19 into coupling to rotate the sheet feeding roller 6 in the direction to feed the sheets. At this time, the resist under roller driving gear 22 rotates in the direction to disengage the resisting one-way clutch 20, so that the resist roller 7 remains at a stand-still. Thereby the sheets are seeped and put in alignment in the axial direction of the photosensing drum. Then reverse rotation of the motor M will stop the feed roller 6 and drive the resist roller 7 to feed the sheet. This arrangement does not require any complicated structures to obtain a secure and easy timing of the feed roller with respect to the resist roller.
