Abstract
PURPOSE: To improve the spheroidization rate of the entire part of a hot rolled steel strip and to reduce the time for descaling and pickling by reheating the steel strip to eliminate hardness differences in inside and outside quality parts then subjecting the same to black skin rolling then to descaling and spheroidization annealing.
CONSTITUTION: A hot rolled steel strip of high carbon steel or middle to high- carbon low-alloy steel is reheated after coiling or finich rolled at 500W700°C, after which it is coiled, whereby the hardness differences between the outside quality part and inside quality part of the steel strip are reduced and in this state, black skin rolling of ≥10% draft is applied. Thence, it is subjected to mechanical descaling, and further descaling by pickling. In succession to this, it is subjected to prescribed spheroidization annealing. By this method, the spheroidization rate of the entire part of the steel strip is made uniform and good. Since cracks are produced in scale by black skin annealing, mechanical descaling is accomplished effectively and the descaling by pickling is reduced.
