Abstract
PURPOSE:To form uniform beads on a drum shell by meshing beading rolls and a beading rail with each other uniformly with the aid of the deflections of the rolls in bead processing, by constituting a device in such a way that the larger the deflection of a part of the roll due to forming load the nearer the place approaches the rail, prior to forming. CONSTITUTION:A drum shell 2 is set at the inside of a beading rail 14 by the guide of drum guides 17a, 17b. At this time, the tips of processing parts 24 or beading rolls 16a, 16b approach the rail 14 most and the root parts of the rolls are away from the rail, because respective parts 24 are adopted to be a taper shape, of which dia. at a measured part increases according as the part approaches the tip of the roll. In bead processing, the deflection quantities of the rolls 16a, 16b at measured parts increase according as the parts approach the tips of the rolls, so that the processing part 21 of the rail 14 is made nearly parallel to the processing parts 24 of the rolls, and a meshing depth formed by both parts 21, 24 is made nearly uniform. Further, the same effect is obtained in the case of conventional devices by tilting the rolls 6 and the rail 14 at an installing angle phi respectively.
