Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent the bar-code from being printed twice on a document, by using a photoelectric transducer, a counter, a gate generator, a clock generator, etc. to detect whether the bar-code exists on the document or not. CONSTITUTION:A photoelectric converter 1 read ''0'' and ''1'' in accordance with the ground part and the print part on the document. A counter 2 counts the number of ''1''s of the output signal from the converter 1. A gate generating circuit 4 transmits a gate signal to the counter 2 and a comparing circuit 3, and the counter 2 is operated while this gate signal is ''1'', and the counter 2 is not operated while it is ''0''. The circuit 3 compares the output value of the counter 2 with the output value of a register 6; and if the output value of the counter 2 is larger, the circuit 3 outputs ''1''. A constant value is preset to the register preliminarily, and the output ''1'' of the circuit 3 indicates the detection of a bar-code.
