Abstract

PURPOSE:To achieve uniform fixing without unevenness, by oscillating a part of a high frequency generating means toward lengthwise fixing effective width, in a microwave heat fixing device. CONSTITUTION:An absorber 6 is inserted partly in a waveguide 2 and can be oscillated toward the arrow directions (a), (b). When a disc 8 turns with a motor 7, a bar 9 reciprocates to oscillate the absorber 6 toward the arrow. The position of antinode and node of a microwave in the waveguide is changed by change of the length of wave guide to improve uneven fixing. Taking the carrying speed of the recording member as 10cm/sec and giving the oscillation in 50Hz, uniform fixing is obtained lengthwise the waveguide. In place of the absorber to be oscillated, electrodes of the waveguide or microwave oscillator or the entire waveguide means can be oscillated.
