Abstract
PURPOSE:To make possible forming a judgement on whether a living thing such as a human being exists or not within a room by a method wherein sound in the room is picked up by a microphone and spacing between sounds is measured. CONSTITUTION:A sound picked up by a microphone 1 is amplified by an amplifier 2, made to pass through a filter 3 capable of absorbing the noise of the amplifier 2 itself, compared by a comparator 4 in terms of voltage, and outputted as a pulse when its voltage exceeds a certain level. The output is inputted to the reset terminal of a counter 5, which recounts the time starting with 0 by means of an internal oscillator each time the output pulse is generated. Therefore, when the spacing between sounds, that is, the spacing between the output pulses of the comparator 4 is shorter than the set time, a man is judged to be found.
