Abstract
PURPOSE:To prevent the contamination of a nonplated surface surely by providing a guide plate to an ejection nozzle discharge port colliding molten metal against the bottom surface of a strip and providing inclination downward with respect to horizontal palne in the falling and colliding part of the molten metal. CONSTITUTION:Molten metal is ejected through the nozzle discharge port 13 of a header 10 to the bottom surface of a strip 11 traveling horizontally on the bath surface. The discharge port 13 assumes a V shape in its plane shape, and its end part projects from the edge of the strip 11, assuming an about 60 deg. angle theta3 to a centerline 14 on the right and left and an about 30 deg. angle theta4 to a horizontal line 15. The distance thereof from the strip 11 is about 5-33mm.. A guide plate 16 is provided to the leading end of the port 13, and the discharging direction of the molten metal is of a curved surface of about 300mm.R. Thereby, the collision force of the time when the molten metal falls onto the plate 16 is eased, the production of splashes is suppressed, and further the splashes produced on the guide plate is captured with a splash cover 19.
