Abstract
PURPOSE:To realize the automatic and assured cutting of a glass substrate, by using at least two sets of cutters containing a presser and a bearer which are set opposite to each other on each transfer surface of a pair of transfer matters and with the presser and the bearer set reverse to each other. CONSTITUTION:Both belts 14 and 17 of a main body conveyor 15 and an auxiliary conveyor 18 are turned synchronously in opposite directions C1 and C2. Under such conditions, the scribing parts S1 and S2 at the prescribed positions on the upper and lower surfaces are scribed by a glass cutter, etc. Such glass substrate 9 is put at the right edge part of the conveyor 15. Thus the substrate 9 is held between the conveyors 15 and 18 to be shifted to the left. At the 1st cutting mechanism part 36, the substrate 9 is pressed from the lower part by a press roller 23, and the upper glass plate 7 is cut at the part S1. Then the lower glass plate 8 is cut at the part S2 at the next cutting mechanism part 56. Thus the substrate 9 is divided into plural substrate 1 of a liquid crystal display to be carried to the left side of the conveyor 15.
