Abstract

PURPOSE: To control heat transmission of a heat pipe, by making at least part of a wick of a magnetic metal mesh, and adjusting the density of spaces of said wick by magnetic force so that the flow rate of a working fluid passing through the wick.
CONSTITUTION: The wick 2 of copper mesh includes a wick 21 of iron mesh positioned adjacent the center of the heat pipe 1 comprising an evaporation section 4, an insulation part 5 and a condensation part 6. In a case an electric current having a current density of 1.5A/mm2 is passed through a field winding 3, and the working fluid 6 is moving so that a heat transmission of 100°C is effected, if it is regarded that the heat transmission of 100°C in overheating, and a heat transmission of 80°C is required, the spaces of the iron wick 21 can be narrowed by enhancing the field flux to a current density if 2.5A/mm2 to reduce the flow rate of the working fluid 6, and therefore heat transmission of a required temperature becomes possible. Thus, the scope of the heat transmission of the heat pipe 1 can be widen, and its control is facilitated.
