Abstract

NEW MATERIAL:The 7-thiaprostaglandin E1 derivative of formulaI(R1 is H, lower alkyl or pharmacologically permissible cation; R2 is H or methyl; R3 is 5W7C alkyl or cycloalkyl; R4 and R5 are H or OH-protecting group; * denotes asymmetric carbon atom; the steric configuration of the carbon atom is α-configuration, β-configuration or their arbitrary mixture), its mirror image or their arbitrary mixture.
EXAMPLE: 7-Thiaprostaglandin E1.
USE: A blood platelet coagulation inhibiting agent, hypotensor, and remedy or preventive for thrombosis. It is administered pref. by oral administration or intravenous injection.
PROCESS: The compound of formulaIis prepared by reacting the compound of formula II (R11 is lower alkyl; R41 is OH-protecting group), its mirror image, or their mixture, with an organic copper lithium compound of formula III (R51 is OH-protecting group), and if necessary, subjecting the product to the removal of the protecting group, hydrolysis, or salt-forming reaction.
