Abstract

PURPOSE: To prepare a water-soluble cutting oil having antiseptic property as well as corrosion inhibiting and defoaming properties, by adding a specific amount of a cocount alkyl dimethylbenzyl ammonium chloride as a surface active agent.
CONSTITUTION: A water-soluble cutting oil optionally containing an extreme pressure additive, an oiliness improver, an anti-oxidant, an anti-fomamant, a surface active agent, etc., is added with (A) 0.01W0.5wt% of a coconut alkyl dimethylbenzyl ammonium chloride as a cationic surface active agent, and if necessary, (B) 5W30wt% of a lauric acid ester as a nonionic surface active agent. In case of compounding the component (B), EDTA or an alkali polyphosphate, etc. is preferably added together with the component (B) to improve its effect.
