Abstract
PURPOSE:In an automobile engine, to control a variation of an engine r.p.m. by providing a clutch which employs a connection or a disconnection of a driving shaft and a flywheel used for idling on the basis of a evolution number of the flywheel. CONSTITUTION:In an automobile engine, a driving shaft 5 connected to the end of a crankshaft 1 is driven by a flywheel 10 used for idling. During an idling, a spring 25 pushes pistons 23, 21 to contact a disc 12 under pressure. A rotation of the driving shaft 5 is transmitted to the flywheel 10. During a high speed running, an oil pressure is applied inside a chamber 20 to retract the piston 23, which releases a braking of the disc 12 and allows a free rotation of the idling flywheel 10. Thereby, the engine can be smoothly turned during the idling and reduced fuel consumption can be attained during the high speed driving.
