Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide titled compsn. suitable for forming a heater having self-temperature control function, by a method wherein an electrically conductive carbon black and graphite are blended with a polymer.
CONSTITUTION: (b) About 3W50pts.wt. of an electrically conductive carbon black (e.g. acetylene black, furnace black) and (c) 5W30pts.wt. of graphite are blended with (a) 100pts.wt. of a polymer (e.g. polyethylene, tetrafluoroethylene, silicone rubber) to obtain an electrically conductive polymer compsn. having positive temperature coefficient characteristics. Then the compsn. c is subjected to an extrusion molding so as to coat two pieces of electrode conductors 1, 1' arranged in parallel with common coating of said compsn. to form the desired heater.
