Abstract
PURPOSE: To transfer any pattern easily to the surface of a concave or convex object of any shape by acting an active solvent to a sticking layer floating on water with a protecting layer downward and then pressing the object to be transferred down into water.
CONSTITUTION: A transfer-printing sheet 1 prepared by forming a water soluble resin layer 3, a protecting layer 4, a pattern sticking layer 5 and if necessary a surface sticking layer 6 on one face of a water soluble paper 2 is floated on the surface of water with the sticking layer upward. When the water soluble paper 2 has become like jelly, an activator 12 (solvent, etc.,) is acted to the sticking layer 11 to give the sticking layer transfer characteristics such as adhesive property, malleability, etc. Then an object 9 to be transferred is pressed dwon from above the sticking layer 11, being sunk into water to stick a transferred layer 7 to the surface of the object 9 to be transferred firmly, is then taken out of water and dried, and thus a transferred object 10 is obtained.
