Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent the entry of different color toners by the simple constitution provided with a member which selectively shields the openings in the developing positions of the 1st and 2nd developing devices.
CONSTITUTION: The 1st, 2nd developing devices 17, 19 are made into one unit by a housing 25, and a red color toner and a black color toner are contained separately in the respective devices. The developing openings where the respective devices approach to the photoreceptor surface are so constituted as to be selectively shielded by means of a shielding plate 35 which is turnable around the central shaft 36 of the photosensitive drum. At the time of two-color developing, said plate positions at the intermediate of both devieces, but when block color developing is going to be made by using the 2nd device 19 alone, the opening of the 1st device 17 is closed by the plate 35; therefore, the entry of the black color toner scattered at the developing with the 2nd device 19 into the 1st device 17 may be prevented.
