Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain a stable recording body independent of humidity and voltage by using a polymer emulsion film contg. dispersed particles of an electrically conductive material and having a specified volume resistivity value as the middle resistance layer of an electrostatic recording body forming a latent image with a multistylus electrode.
CONSTITUTION: A coating fluid is prepared by uniformly dispersing particles of an electrically conductive material such as carbon black in an emulsion of an acrylate polymer or the like mixed with an electrically conductive monomer, surfactant, etc. so that a film after drying has 107W1010 Ωcm surface resistibility. The fluid is applied to base substrate 3 such as paper and dried to form middle resistance layer 2. The carbon black is added so that it is adjusted to about 30wt% at the time of forming the final film so as to make the surface resistibility of layer 2 106W 107Ωcm. On layer 2 recording layer 1 such as "Mylar film " is formed, and layer 2 is grounded at end 4. Thus, a superior image free from defects such as image thickening and blurring is obtd. at 20W85% relative humidity without causing a resistibility change due to applied voltage.
