Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain a tension regulator for cable which provides an easy regulation of tension and is capable of enhancing the quality of windings by a method wherein a control circuit for controlling the tension of a cable stepwise or the like is provided, in the titled regulator for use in coil forming for transformers or the like.
CONSTITUTION: When an eccentric cam 5 is rotated in the forward direction by the operation of a motor 3 through a reduction gearing 2, a moving piece 7 in contact with the periphery of the cam 5 gradually moves rightwards to compress a coil spring 13 and increase the spring force gradually. It follows that the sliding friction between a friction plate 14 and a cable 15 is increased and a tension corresponding to the increased sliding friction is applied to the cable 15. In this case, limit switches LS1WLS3 contacting the operating projections 171W173 provided on the moving piece 7 are set stepwise for controlling the tension on the cable 15 stepwise. With the eccentric cam 5 rotated backwards, the moving piece 7 moves in the opposite directon, decreasing the tension applied to the cable.
