Abstract
PURPOSE: To reduce a heat generation from a continuous liquid level indicator as little as possible by a method wherein a switching apparatus is installed between a power source line for a measuring element and the power source for a measuring element and a current is supplied only to a continuous liquid level indicator which is in contact with the liquid level of the extremely low temperature liquid.
CONSTITUTION: A measurement signal line 3 and a power source line 4 of a continuous liquid level indicator 2 installed in a liquid He container are connected to each contact of a switching apparatus 5, respectively. There are two sets of output of the switching apparatus 5. Each of them is connected to a voltmeter 8 to measure a terminal voltage of the continuous liquid level indicator 2 and to a power source 6 for measuring elements to supply a constant current to the continuous liquid level indicator 2. Since the switching apparatus 5 can change-over two circuits at a same time, each one unit for each of the voltmeter 8 and the power source for measuring elements is enough for the use. However, the dial of the voltmeter is of 4 kinds. When an indication of a voltmeter becoms a full scale, the operation of the switching apparatus is performed manually. In this way, heat generation can be reduced extremely small from a continuous liquid level indicator.
