Abstract
PURPOSE: To break the shell of a nut and to remove it automatically from the flesh without damaging the flesh, by transferring the nut on a conveyor pallet, pressing an edged tool to the nut through a hydraulic pressure between a pair of a press and a pressure cylinders placed in the opposite positions.
CONSTITUTION: The nut placed on the pallet 6 is inserted and stopped. The piston rod 3 of the press cylinder 1 is moved downward, brought into contact with the nut, and stopped. The piston rod 4 is moved upward and this pressure breaks the nut 5. The pressure of upward movement is detected by the pressure sensor 26 put on the tube channel 17 of the cylinder 1, and the detection of the break of the shell gives orders. The shut off valve 25 is communicated, the control valve 15 is changed into the position 15b, a hydraulic oil is sent to the front chambers 20 and 22 of the both cylinders 1 and 2, and the piston rods 3 and 4 are retreated immediately. Consequently, the edged tools 9 and 10 will not reach the flesh 33. The pallet 6 is advanced by one pitch, the other devices are returned to the previous positions, and the above-mentioned operations are repeated.
