Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain a hearth roll for continuous type heat processing furnace, in which the formation of build-up is prevented, by metallizing Ni-Cr alloy on the roll surface and metallizing chrominum carbide on the outside layer so as to obtain the prescribed film thickness. CONSTITUTION:Nickel and chrome alloy is metallized on a roll surface and chromium carbide is metallized on this outer layer so that the whole film thickness of the two layers is 0.3-2mm. to obtain a hearth roll for continuous type heat processing furnace. This roll has excellent wear resistance in high temperature due to a coating formation of chromium carbide and the generating ratio of build-up of the roll is reduced to about 0.2% (conventionally about 3%) and the polishing interval of the roll carried out while stopping the line is diminished to once per a week (conventionally once per two days) and the roll replacing period is extended to about two years (conventionally about three months).
