Abstract

NEW MATERIAL:An N-pyrimidylaniline compound expressed by formula I (X is H or halogen).
EXAMPLE: N-(5-Bromo-pyrimidyl)-2,4-dinitro-6-trifluoromethylaniline.
USE: A control agent against injurious organisms, showing improved growth control effects on insects, e.g. diamondback moth or green rice leafhopper, mites, e.g. two-spotted spider mite, and capable of controlling plant pathogenic germs, e.g. Piricularia oryzae, Pellicularia sasaki, Xanthomonas oryzae of rice plants and Erysphe graminis. The concentration is 20W2,000ppm as the active constituent.
PROCESS: A 2,4-dinitro-6-trifluoromethylhalogenobenzene of formula II (Y is halogen or amino) is reacted with an aminopyrimidine of formula III (Z is the same as Y; however, Z is amino when Y is halogen, and halogen when Y is amino) in the presence of an acid binder, preferably in a solvent, at -10 to 200°C for 0.5W24hr to give the compound of formula I.
