Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent the influence applied on a web when starting/stopping a feed motor, by applying brake torque in opposite direction from the feeding direction of web for a predetermined period of time then returning the brake torque to such level as corresponding with pretension.
CONSTITUTION: In order that the load energy applied on a feed roll shaft 3 is absorbed at the time of stop M2 of a feed motor 7, brake torque T3 in opposite direction from the web feeding direction is applied for a predetermined period of time (t) then it is returned to torque T0 corresponding with the pretension. Consequently the web 1 is not loosened or stretched upon start/stop of the feed motor 7, but the web is always applied with tension higher than predetermined level thereby it can be rised to high speed in short time without cutting.
