Abstract

PURPOSE: To increase the draw ratio in a molten state extremely and improve the orientation and the fiber strength, by means of a tapered introductory part immediately before a land and at a specific ration between the maximum cross-sectional area and the outlet cross-sectional area of the land.
CONSTITUTION: An introductory part 15 of a land 16 in a spinneret 10 is formed into a tapered shap, and the ratio between the amximum opening cross-sectional area of the introductory part 15 and the outlet cross-sectional area of the land 16 is 50:1 or more, preferably 100:1 or more. A molten polyolefin resin 13 fed from an extruder is passed through an annular path 14 of an adapther 11 to a spinneret 12, and extruded through the tapered introductory part 15 and the land 16 to give a fiber having a strength 15% higher than that of the conventional fiber.
