Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent release of unburned gas and resulting explosion of a grand flare by arranging burners in each stage radially in such a manner as to include at least one of initial stage burners arranged in a cross.
CONSTITUTION: Burners 12 in the first stage are arranged in a cross within a furnace of a grand flare 11, burners 14 in the third stage are arranged in a ring including a burner 12A on the outermost side of the first stage burners 12 and burners 13 in the second stage are arranged between the first stage burners 12 and the third stage burners 14 in a ring including an intermediate burner 12B of the first stage burners. Pilot burners 15 are set up near a burner 12C positioned at the center of the furnace or near each of all the first stage burners.
