Abstract

NEW MATERIAL:Compounds of formula I (R is H, lower alkyl; R' and R" are lower alkyl).
EXAMPLE: 2-Ethyl-5,6-dimethyl-3-methylcarbamoyloxythieno[2,3-d]pyrimidin-4-one.
USE: Antimicrobial for agriculture and horticulture: they especially show strong antimicrobial activity against Ascomycetes and Deuteromycetes.
PREPARATION: The reaction of a compound of formula II with another compound of R'-NCO gives the compound of formula I where R is H. The reaction of a compound of formula II with another compound of formula IV in the presence of a base also gives a compound of formula I where R is not H. The compound of formula II is obtained by the reaction of a compound of formula III with R"COCl in the presence of a base, followed by the reaction of the product of formula V with hydroxylamine hydrochloride in the pesence of a base.
