Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a picture imaqe display which can deflect uniformly under low voltage, by providing an electrode means for deflecting an electron beam and an electrode plate placed between an indicating means for the purpose to facilitate the deflection. CONSTITUTION:A parallel planar electrode 18' is placed between deflection electrodes 16, 16' and an indicating face 19 in place of conventional field shielding electrode. In said parallel planar electrode 18' each plane is arranged in parallel with same interval. Consequently one end of planar electrode 18' is secured with same interval while the other end will prevent the curl of planer electrode 18' caused by thermal distortion, thereby the distortion can be released. The planar electrode 18' is vertical against the indicating face 19 while arranged parallel in longitudinal direction and held on same plane, while the slits of vertical deflection electrodes 16, 16' will come at the center of two planar electrodes 18'. Consequently uniform and bright indicating face is provided while the deflection voltage can be reduced.
