Abstract
PURPOSE: Titled tape that is made by vulcanizing a resin composition consisting of the base polymer of a mixture of chlorine-containing rubber polymer and ethylene- vinyl acetate copolymer, a vulcanizer and a metal compound reactive with sulfides, thus preventing efficiently the invasion of sulfides.
CONSTITUTION: A mixture containing (A) a chlorine-containing rubber polymer, preferably chlorinated polyethylene and (b) an ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer, preferably containing 30W85% of vinyl acetate and having higher than 10 melt index is used as the base polymer, and combined with (B) a vulcanizer such as zinc white and (C) a metal compound reactive with sulfides, preferably at least one selected from lead and iron compounds. Then, the resultant mixture is vulcanized to give the objective tape. The proportion of a in component A is preferably 30W 70wt% and component C is 20W150wt% based on component A.
EFFECT: It can be readily applied to electric power wires, cables and joint parts in operation.
