Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a satisfactory jet speed of ink even under a low voltage by a method wherein several piezoelectric elements are provided along the travelling route of the ink and are operated by turns later as they are nearer to a jet nozzle. CONSTITUTION:The surface electrode of ringed piezoelectric elements provided around an ink receptacle 1 is divided into four parts and makes up operating parts 2a-2d, each of which can operate independently. In t=0, when a pulse voltage signal is given, pressure waves P1, P2 appear at a starting point X1. In t=t1, when the pressure wave P1, arrives at a position X2, an operating portion 2b is driven to generate pressure waves P2, P2', when P1, P1' are superposed, those wave fronts are matched and their crest values are nearly doubled. In like manner, when operating parts 2c, 2d are driven, P3, P3', P4, P4'appear and, as a result, the crest value of Pa which is superposed by pressure waves P1, P2...P4 is nearly four times as much as that of each original pressure wave. Seueral pressure waves are concentrated into one, the crest value becomes double and ink is jetted from the jet nozzle 3.
