Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve the cooling and heating efficiencies, by employing heat pipe means as a heat exchanger so that pipeline for letting a hot or cold water flow for heat exchange may be omitted and therefore there may be no frictional resistance in the pipeline.
CONSTITUTION: When heating is required, a hot water is passed through a forward passage 3 of the heat exchanger, then an evaporation part 10 of the heat pipe 1 is heated to allow a liquid refrigerant 8' wetting wicks 7 to be evaporated and to be moved to a condensation part 11. Thus, when air is blown onto the heat pipe 1 by a blower 5, heat exchange is effected between the heat pipe 1 and the air, and thus the heated air is released into the room to warm there. When condensed, the refrigerant 8' is returned from the condesation part 11 via the wicks 7 to the evaporation part 10. If a cold water is passed through a return pipe 2 and air is delivered by the blower 5, cooling can be effected. Therefore, the connecting pipeline can be shortened, the circulation pumping power can be small and the cooling and heating efficiencies can be improved.
