Abstract

PURPOSE: A modifier for a moldable resin, to increase degree of polymerization of a molding compound primarily composed of a linear saturated polyester, by addition during molding, which comprises a specified compound and a thermoplastic resin.
CONSTITUTION: A modifier is prepared by compounding (B) a thermoplastic resin (preferably a saturated polyester of intrinsic viscosity ≥ about 0.3 in ortho-chlorophenol), with (A) 3W100wt%, based on the resin (B), of a compound comprising a bisoxazolone compound or a bisoxazinone compound of formula I (wherein D and X are divalent organic groups; the ring in formula III is five- or six-membered; l is 0 or 1), or a bisbenzooxazinone compound of formula II (wherein A is a tetravalent aromatic group; R1 and R2 are monovalent organic groups).
