Abstract
PURPOSE:To resolve picture defects accompanied with taking-out of the bias terminal of the transparent electrode film, by forming the voltage applying region to the transparent electrode vertically to the charge transfer direction of charge transfer elements. CONSTITUTION:Bias electrode pad 19 is provided in a position vertical to the transfer direction of BBD31-BBD3n outside the image area, and the bias terminal to transparent electrode film 7 is taken out in this part. Consequently, the protruded transparent electrode film which causes difference of the threshold voltage of transistors of BBDs does not exist, and picture defects caused by it are prevented. Even if fluctuation of the threshold voltage of transistors of BBDs is generated in the leading-out part of the bias terminal from transparent electrode 7 to electrode pad 19 and BBDs perform vertical transfer, this part does not appear on the monitor television scrren directly because this part is inside the noneffective image area.
