Abstract

PURPOSE: To convert the night soil into a fertilizer by a simple treatment, wherein the night soil is deodorized by adding a deodorizer, a floculant and a pH adjuster, its pH is adjusted to 7W12, a water content adjuster is added to adjust its water content to 40W60%, and then it is fermented.
CONSTITUTION: The night soil from which coarse organic matters are previously removed is added with the deodorizer and a pH adjuster and is stirred to deodorize it and to produce separated water, and then its pH is adjusted to 7W12. A water content adjuster is mixed to adjust its water content to 40W60%, and air is forcibly supplied to carry out fermeatation thereof. As the deodorizer and floculant, ferrous chloride and ferric chloride are preferred, and the amount to be added is preferably 10W40% of the solid content of the night soil. As the pH adjuster, calcium hydroxide, etc are mentioned, and as the water content adjuster, defatted rice bran may be used, but it is preferred to recycle the fermented product obtained by the above procedure.
