Abstract

PURPOSE: To enhance the capability of resisting external forces and thermal stress by a method wherein the sheet blanks of a heat exchanging element comprising planar sheet blanks and corrugated sheet blanks being laminated alternately to form small through holes are provided with minute corrugation patterns in the same direction as the small through-holes.
CONSTITUTION: A planar sheet blank 1 and a corrugated sheet blank 2, both of which are made of permeable material and provided over their entire width with minute widthwise corrugation patterns, are adhered to each other to form a unilaterally corrugated member 4 having small through-holes 3. A heat exchanging element is composed of such unilaterally corrugated members 4. With the minute corrugation partterns provided in this manner, the effective area for heat exchange is increased, hence the heat exchanging capability is enhanced, the blanks are provided with expanding-contracting property, and the capability of resisting external forces and thermal stress is enhanced.
