Abstract
PURPOSE: To enable the inspection of headed screws, in quantity by providing a means to detect that a rotary gauge and a slide member under a vertically movable die set come into contact with the headed screw.
CONSTITUTION: A headed screw S is obliquely conveyed to the inspection part of a support plate 8 through a chute 2a. When a die set 16 is moved down to a prescribed position by a vertically moving cylinder 14, a rotary gauge shaft 20 is moved down by a motor 23 and the tip of the shaft is inserted into the heat groove S1 of the headed screw S to rotate it. At that same time, the bottom of a slide member 27 comes into contact with the head surface of the screw S so that the descent of the slide member is stopped through a switch. When the configuration of the screw S is finished within tolerances, the contact of a switch provided on the slide member 27 touches the head 47 of a micrometer so that a lamp is lighted on. The lighting-on of the lamp is identified with the undefectiveness of the screw. Defective and undefective headed screws are automatically divided and discharged by a baffle plate 8. The inspection of headed screws in quantity is thereby enabled.
