Abstract
PURPOSE: To conduct the purification of denitrified water and the treatment of excessive bacteria bodies extremely simply by a method wherein denitrifying bacteria adhering on the granular media of a denitrifying process are utilized.
CONSTITUTION: Waste water 1 containing NH3 is nitrified by a nitrifying process 2, nitrified water 3 flows into a denitrifying process 5 with methanol 4 and is denitrified, methanol 4' leaked is oxidized and removed by an aerobic digestion process 6, and disposed water 9 from which BOD components in nitrogen are removed is discharged. On the other hand, excessive denitrifying bacteria breeding in the denitrifying process 5 are moved to the aerobic digestion process 6 through a transfer pipe 7 with granular media, and denitrifying bacteria on the granular media are gradually decreased in their amount by self-oxidation decomposition. Water containing said media is transported to the denitrifying process 5 through a transfer pipe 8 for the media on which the denitrifying bacteria are diminished. Thereby, the denitrifying bacteria on the media repeat increase and decrease, passing through the denitrifying process 5 and the aerobic digistion process 6, and the denitrifying bacteria of the denitrifying process 5 are quantitatively held therein.
