Abstract
PURPOSE: To prevent org. acids from being volatilized as seen in the conventional method as well as to remove SO2 in high efficiency by contacting an exhaust gas containing SO2 and an org. acid salt containing absorbing liquid having a specified pH flowing countercurrently each other in a absorbing tower provided with a wet wall at an upper side of multistage porous plates therein.
CONSTITUTION: In an absorbing tower 1 comprising an org. acid gas absorbing zone in which 5W20 stages of porous plates 2 are provided in an SO2 absorbing zone and a wet wall 3 is provided to an upper side thereof (a plate like bodies are arranged on each plate is parallel as well as vertically and the direction thereof is changed at each stage), an introducing port 4 of an exhaust gas containing SO2, an introducing port 5 of an absorbing liquid and an exhaust port 6 of the absorbing liquid as well as having a wet wall 3 with the height of 1W4m, an exhaust gas containing SO2 and an org. acid salt containing absorbing liquid with pH of 7W8 containing, for example, one or more of Na or K salt of an org. acid such as acetic acid or butyric acid are contacted countercurrently. The pH value in the wet wall can be maintained at 6W7 or 6W8 and SO2 can be removed at high efficiency while about 90% or more of an org. acid gas volatilized from a top portion of porous plates 2 is removed.
