Abstract

PURPOSE:To perform an easy and correct detection for the depth reaction force applied to a band saw blade, by interposing a vertically moving cylinder between a slide block pivotally mounted to a saw blade frame and a base mount. CONSTITUTION:A machine is constituted by a base mount 1, vertically moving cylinder 4 interposed between a slide block 3 and the base mount 1, pivotal axis 6 that pivotally mounts a saw blade frame 5 and the block 3, limit switch 10, band saw blade 11, guide post and the like. When a depth reaction force is acted on the blade 11, said reaction force acts so as to cancel a moment due to the own weight of the frame 5, and this causes a less strength of force applied to a spring 8, accordingly the spring 8 is extended to permit the slightly turning motion of the frame 5 in a direction counter clockwise. Because an extension of said spring 8 correctly corresponds to a depth reaction force acted on the blade 11, the detection for the depth reaction force applied to the saw blade 11 can be easily and correctly performed by detecting a displacement of said spring.
