Abstract

PURPOSE:To form a chargeable battery by using lithium as the cathode active material, a specific material as the anode active material, and a specific material as the electrolyte which will favor the transfer for an electrochemical reaction of lithium ions with the anode active material. CONSTITUTION:Lithium is used as the cathode active material, Li3Zr2Si2PO12 or Li14Zn(GeO4)4 as the anode active material, and a mixture of an aprotic organic solvent such as propylene carbonate and a lithium salt such as LiClO4, which mixture is chemically stable to the cathode active material and lithium and favors the transfer for an electrochemical reaction of lithium ions with the anode active material, as th electrolyte material to form a battery. Thus a small-sized, chargeable battery with large capacity and high energy density can be obtained.
