Abstract
PURPOSE:To enhance strength of a metallic mold in case that the plug of an optical fiber cable is produced by injection molding of synthetic resin, by providing a continuous wing-shaped gap part in the narrow holding hole of the optical fiber cable conductor. CONSTITUTION:When optical fiber cable 3 is inserted into box body 41 of the plug along groove parts 51 and 52 after removal of the armor at the tip of optical fiber cable 3, the armor is divided into two by wedge-shaped part 53, and optical fiber cable conductors 31 and 32 at the tip are inserted into holding holes 54 and 56. Next, cover 42 is caused to adhere or welded to box body 41 by ultrasonic welding and so on. At this time, optical fiber cable 3 is fixed strongly by protruded parts 411 and 421. Since wing-shaped gap part 55 (57) is provided continuously in holding hole 54 (56), strength of the metallic mold can be sufficient. After insertion of cable conductors 31 and 32, an adhesive is charged in these gap parts 55 and 57 to fix cable conductors 31 and 32.
