Abstract

PURPOSE:To realize an efficiency for drawing up document through shortening an access time by attaining access to a dictionary file part every time a character read in ''kana'' (Japanese character) is inputted. CONSTITUTION:For example, when ''kanji'' (Chinese character), such as ''seikaku'' (accurate in Japanese) is to be found by referring to indexes, ''se'' (Japanese syllabary) is inputted from keyboard 1 and then ''se'' is inputted to key storage buffer 4 and also displayed on display 12. Further, access to dictionary file 8 is attained to read homonymic ''kanji'', which is held in file reading buffer 9 temporarily. Next, when ''i'' is inputted, ''sei'' is inputted to key storage buffer 4 and also displayed on display 12, and homonyms of ''sei'' are displayed in file reading buffer 9. Thus, when ''seikaku'' is inputted in ''kana'', ''kanji'' characters which can be read as ''seikaku'' are read out of dictionary file 8 and, while displayed, held in reading buffer 9. The operator selects the required ''kanji'' among characters displayed on display 12.
