Abstract
PURPOSE: To permit to impart excellent cutting capacity by subjecting the WC base super hard alloy comprising WC, a carbide, a nitride or a carbonitride of a metal belonging to the groups 4a, 5a, 6a of the Periodic Table and a ferrous metal to heat nitriding at a specific temp. in a nitrogen atmosphere.
CONSTITUTION: The WC base super hard alloy comprising WC, one or more compounds selected from a group (except WC) consisting of a carbide, a nitride and a carbonitride of a metal belonging to the groups 4a, 5a, 6a of the Periodic Table and a ferrous metal is nitrided by heating at 1,000W1,300°C in a nitrogen atmosphere. Especially, when a nitride of a metal of the groups 4a, 5a is contained, a preferable result is obtained.
