Abstract
PURPOSE: A borosilicate enamel frit that comprises SiO2, B2O3, Na2O, K2O, Li2O, ZnO and TiO2 in a specific proportion respectively, thus being capable of being glazed at a temperature lower than the iron's A1 transformation point and free from harmful substances.
CONSTITUTION: A borosilicate enamel frit contains the following components in the given proportion respectively by weight: SiO2, 20W60, preferably 30W50%; B2O3, 10W30, preferably 10W20%; Na2O, 10W30%; K2O, 0.1W15, preferably 1W10%; Li2O, 0.1W10, preferably 1W5%; ZnO, 0.1W15% and TiO2, 1W15%. The glazing temperature of this frit is lower than the A1 transformation point of iron (723°C), which is lower than the glazing temperature of general iron enamels, 830W870°C. Therefore, it does not any adverse effects on the dimensional accuracy, even when applied to metal-formed articles with complicated shape such as cooking devices and produces high-quality products with less defects of foams or pinholes.
